Giveaway: HP Pavilion dm3 Laptop

I can't believe I haven't written a review or anything on here since last month and to think December and heck the year is almost over! But do not fret, I come to you today not with a review but with a sweet sweet giveaway!

Thanks to Alexa, earlier today I was offered to give away a brand new HP Pavilion dm3 laptop. Oh yes, give away as in for free as in YOU could win it!! So if you didn't win big on Alexa or Jenn's giveaways, here's another chance for you!

Don't know what the HP Pavilion dm3 laptop is? Well here are some fun facts:

  • HP Pavilion dm3 offers an ideal balance of performance, mobility and affordability in a 1", thin, sleek, design that features a meticulously clean design and iconic keyboard enhanced by a brushed aluminum-magnesium case.

  • Features like snap, pin, shake and peak in Windows 7 makes day-to-day tasks a breeze on dm3.

  • Also, great features like HomeGroup makes sharing music, pictures, videos and documents on home networks easy.

  • Ultra-low voltage processors and other features give the dm3 10 hours of battery life, letting users go where they need to without having to find a plug.

  • Windows 7 also has Play To which allows users to play media through a home video/audio system and Windows Media Center that enables users to watch Internet TV and record TV for playback.

Also, you can follow HP on twitter: @hp_pc

Sounds awesome right? Yeah I think I would like to own one as well and enjoy it's pretty sleekness.

So how do you win this fine laptop? Simply leave me a comment telling me how this computer would make your holiday season better.

For extra entries tweet or blog (or do both) about the contest and leave it as a separate comment.

The giveaway ends next Wednesday, December 23rd, 3pm PST I'll be picking a winner at random who will be notified via email, so leave me a VALID EMAIL address please :)

Good luck!

I was contacted by an HP representative and the computer was offered to my readers, I was in no other way compensated for this post.

For starters, it would make my holiday season all the brighter because I could stop using my old and busted laptop, on which you have to smack the screen (repeatedly) to stabilize it, as well as hold the power cord IN PLACE for it to continually charge. This would also make my wife's life a lot easier, as I would no longer follow her around the house trying to get sympathy for my temporarily disfigured "laptop claw".

Thanks for hosting this giveaway, and have a Merry Christmas!

This laptop would make my holidays better because I actually need one! But right now, we just can't afford it. My other has been to the tech guys shop 6 times in the last 2 months! I can barely play the standard games that come on it. (Which do not use the internet) It won't go on the internet because the WiFi is broken, & it barely stays charged because the power cord insert plug keeps coming unattached from the internal power source. The last time it had those functions working it had to be sent to replace the mother board.... I would love to win this new laptop!

I would love to be able to give my wife a new laptop for Christmas. Her old one died a few months ago and we haven't been able to replace it. A new HP DM3 would definitely brighten up our holidays.

MJ said...

Let's see how would winning this computer make my holiday season better? Let me list the top 3.
1. It would be a great start to the new year by having a computer that I can actually rely on.
2. The thinness and portability that the computer would provide will allow me to carry it around campus and actually being able to keep up with professors. Writing on paper is so last century ;)
3. The amazing feature of HomeGroup would easily allow the sharing of pictures and other documents with my family.
Hope that I can win this laptop, thanks :)

How would the HP pavilion dm3 make my season a little brighter? For starters, this has been a rough year, and while i'm not going to share any sob stories, it would be a great surprise to find one underneath my christmas tree! Moreover, I love the fact that this laptop has TONS of capability and room to download, so I need not fret this holiday season about downloading songs, pictures and videos. I also love the prospect that this computer has a LONG battery life, and what's a better way to start the year, than by being unstoppable?

My husband is getting ready to work WAY far from home (Canada and we're in WV..yikes)..and this computer (as a present to him) would be perfect for him for Christmas. He and my kids could use webcams to actually see each other and missing him won't be so hard on them...or me for that matter. Plus I'll be able to see if he's eating enough(haha)
thanks for the giveaway ..it's so awesome..especially if I won!

Hi Katelin!
Thanks for the opportunity to make our Christmas brighter! You see months ago I accidentally spilled orange juice all over my boyfriend's new laptop & note o.j. and laptops do not mix! We took it to the repair store and they couldn't recover it, so now we're laptop-less. This giveaway would really help put me back under the mistletoe!

Hello... this laptop would certainly help either me or my husband. He's kind of using a old and busted laptop so him getting this one would be super fantastic.

In the event that he doesn't want it, I would definitely take it considering my laptop is a piece of crap, although relatively new. I would really like a laptop that has a battery with a life of more than 30 minutes.

Awesome giveway!

The HP Pavilion dm3 would make my holiday and life better. If I had this awesome new laptop, I would be able to read your blog everyday on my new computer. My computer is on its last leg and only works when it wants to, so I can't check your blog everyday (or post anything on mine). Since, I love reading your blog, this computer would bring real joy this holiday season. Plus I wouldn't have to spend any of my home savings on a new computer (http://buildingfourwalls.blogspot.com/).

I just realized that I didn't leave my email address in my post so I shall redo it;

This would make my Christmas as I definitely need a laptop this size for school. I am currently a student of the University of Technology, Jamaica, and doing a Bsc. in Computing. As I commute to school everyday (17km) portability and durability are important to me. The power of the notebook interests me as well, as I often have multiple compilers and browsers open to do my coding; multitasking is a large part of my work! Also, I am not sure if this is international (I live in Jamaica, of course) but there is absolutely no way I could actually buy a notebook computer here (exorbitant prices, horrible exchange rates). This would lessen my family's financial strain immensely. Thank you for this opportunity! I can be contacted at darien.alano.rob@hotmail.com or darien.alano.rob@gmail.com

Imagine being 15, suddenly living with friends because your dad didn't have a job and lost your apartment. Your Mom lives 1000 miles away. You love to talk on the phone and have Skype but no computer of your own to connect to Skype with. Plus, alot of your homework requires a computer which the school you go to expects you to have and there's wireless internet where you live but only one computer for a family of 4, plus you and your dad and another friend that they've taken in. And your mom doesn't have a job right now but would love to gift you this awesome laptop.

So, it'd make MY holiday better to be able to give a gift to The Girl.

This laptop would so make my holiday as I have been looking at a similar HP in the stores to replace a very worn out Dell. I use mine for work and personal enjoyment. But, tis the season to think of others so I will have to wait. I thought it was funny that I had looked at a similar model in the store last week and then saw your post the next morning. Regardless, I wish you, Matt and your families a wonderful holiday season. Thinking of you and your enjoyment of Ohio winters as I watch Northeast Ohio turn whiter by the hour. Keep us in the loop on the wedding plans. I am happy for you and hope that everything turns out just the way you want it!

Thanks for giving all of us an opportunity to win something. Happy Holidays!

How would it make my Holiday's easier? It would make my wife happy...Happy Wife = Happy Life.

See, her 5 year old laptop has gotten very sick. We got the virus' out, but they left damage. A permanent pop-up, a Syntax Error that can't be fixed and buttons that open the wrong programs.

On top of that, her battery lasts 3 minutes. Three. As in not enough to start up or shut down without being plugged in. If the plug accidentally comes out, the computer dies in 180 seconds.

My wife NEEDS a new laptop. You have a laptop to give away. Just say'n!

Well, I can't afford rent, much less christmas presents. I have a twelve year old and my computer is just about as old (actually 8 yrs). I just can't put one more thing on it. Her dad lives in New Zealand and if we had a new computer I could get her a webcam so they could skype - he never calls b/c it's too expensive (no child support of course). She'd be so psyched to get a gift that's actually three gifts!

And everytime an HP pavilion ad comes on tv she tells me that's what kind of computer she would want.

It would make my holidays to give her an amazing gift like this.

This would exponentially better my holiday. My laptop is around five years old and its memory capabilities are nearly nonexistant. I pretty much use my computer only to upload photos to an external hard drive I have... =/

Just in case: mskutnick@gmail.com =)

...Also, just to add on (if it's not a separate entry, that's fine), my family cancelled Christmas this year. Nobody has enough time off work to all get together - I live in NC, my parents recently moved here, and the rest of my family is either in PA or the D.C. area - and the economy hit several members of my family hard, including myself. My parents just bought a new house, but can't sell their old one, so nobody's really sending presents this year. And we can't even spend the holidays together. It's sad, and doesn't much feel like Christmas either...

this would make my holiday better by providing the perfect gift for my lovely bf (and, let's be honest, also for me) who is in desperate need of a new laptop. he's a reporter who works from any number of locations and his current laptop is held together with tape. it's a little embarassing (mostly for me).

Winning this would seriously make my Christmas better - I'd do my banking online. That way, uncle Billy would never misplace the deposit; Old Man Potter wouldn't steal it; and there would be no run on the Building and Loan Association.

Why, winning would be almost like a movie.....

Thanks for the contest!

This would make my holiday season because as a struggling single mom, there will be no gifts this year.

The gift money is going to my son's next college semester and this computer would really Gild the Lily for me to give him. The joy of giving is the best.

This would make my Christmas because if I won it I'd give it to my son, who is tired of sharing a computer with mom(who is tired of sharing a computer with son. See how winning would benefit ME?)

omg, this giveaway is RIDICULOUS!!! I would DIEEEE if I won!
How would this laptop make my holiday brighter? Well first of all I've never in my life owned a laptop and that alone would just be the bee's knees.
BUT on top of that I recently re-enrolled in school after a 6yr hiatus so having a laptop to take with me for notes and studying on the go would be AMAZING.
seriously.
Aaa! Thanks for the chance to win Katelin!!

I've never entered any of these type of things before, but here I go. I'm entering this contest because it would make my holiday one of the most memorable ones of my life because I would be able to gift the laptop to my goddaughter, who turns 13 in January. Her mom and dad are my aunt and uncle and they've fallen on hard times in the economy, as they are small business owners. They're not completely destitute (not angling for a sob story or anything), but they do have an extremely limited budget. I would love to give her a new laptop because my aunt and uncle can't afford to and I don't want her to feel like she missed out on anything. I didn't grow up with a lot of money and I know that there were Christmases where I felt left out in comparison to my friends and I would love to make sure she doesn't ever have this feeling (but not so much that she would ever turn into a brat).

Anyway, regardless, happy holidays to all. :)

It would make my season better because just last weekend my house was broken into and both of our laptops were stolen. So a laptop would be really helpful for my husband and I.

This would make my holiday the bestest ever.. our old HP work horse finally crashed after 7 years..got it back yesterday after spending way to much to fix.. and still having issues.. I am rasing grandies and would love this for my grandies.. we walk to our local library several times a week to do homework and use the computer for homework research..the kiddos are starting to learn really early in schools how to use a computer..I would also like to sign up for some computer classes at our local jr college and would need a laptop to keep up.. but most of all I would like this for my grandies so we don't have to keep going to the library to use the computers..

This laptop would make our holidays better in SO many ways! When I lost my job due to a corporate downsizing several months ago, I had to return ALL of my computer equipment to the company since I worked from a home office. Right now, the three of us in my family are sharing a borrowed laptop.
Thanks so much for the fabulous giveaway - I would be SO thrilled to win!

This laptop would make my holiday oh so much brighter! I've got a lot of travel planned in 2010, and real estate in my carry-on bag will be at a premium... with such a thin, sleek laptop, I'll be able to stay in touch with family and friends so easily while I'm on the road!
